Health Checks
We also offer health checks to:
- All new patients.
- Patients who have not consulted in the last three years.
- Patients aged 75 and over.
Non-NHS Services
The doctors are available to provide private certificates and medical examinations for special purposes eg elderly drivers, HGV drivers, pre-employment checks, fitness to travel etc. In general most of these requests
fall outside the services of the NHS. This means that they do not take priority over routine NHS services and are chargable. Where a charge is appropriate you will be advised. Our practice policy is to keep all patient
charges to a minimum. In the case of life assurance examinations, these costs will be borne by the policy provider. Where possible we will ensure all such requests are completed within 20 working days.

Travel Vaccinations
If you require vaccinations for travel click here to download our travel questionnaire which we would ask you to complete as fully as possible and return to the Practice at your earliest convenience. You can also click here to complete the questionnaire online.
If you have not already done so, please make a 10 minute appointment to see the Practice Nurse. Please allow 10 working days in between returning the form and visiting the Nurse. This will ensure that we have reviewed the information provided, researched the most current recommendations for the countries you intend to visit and have the relevant vaccines available for your appointment.
Please note that whilst most of the vaccines for travel are covered within the scope of the NHS services, some do attract either a charge or Private Prescription e.g. Yellow Fever, Hepatitis B, Swine Flu and Malaria. A leaflet explaining these services is available to download here.
Should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
TRAVEL VACCINES – Non NHS Services
PLEASE NOTE – THIS PAGE IS FOR GENERAL INFORMATION.
NOT ALL TRAVELLERS WILL REQUIRE HEP B, MALARIA SWINE FLU OR YELLOW FEVER.
HEPATITIS B
Course of three vaccinations
Cost of vaccine £20 x 3 £60.00
Administration charge £15 x 3 £45.00
Total cost of course £105.00
MALARIA – Private Prescription £15.00
This does NOT include the cost of the preparation, which is paid directly to the Dispensing Pharmacist.
We need to know your exact destination and plans for travel to be able to assess your need for malaria prophylaxis. Different areas require different tablets or mosquito bite prevention dependant on the length of stay and specific travel plans.
Some malaria tablets are bought directly from a chemist, others need to be prescribed privately and then bought from the pharmacy. The Nurse will discuss this further with you at your appointment.
YELLOW FEVER approx £55.00
Should you require Yellow Fever vaccine, the nurses will direct you to the nearest registered Centre. The Centre will administer the vaccine and provide you with the INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATE OF VACCINATION AGAINST YELLOW FEVER. The vaccine gives you protection for 10 years. There is a charge for this service which you should confirm with the Centre.
SWINE FLU VACCINATION
This may be recommended for certain countries. The nurse will discuss this with you at your appointment.
Administration charge £15.00
PLEASE NOTE
Payment for both Vaccines and Private Prescriptions should be made at the time of administration. Payment can be made by cash or cheque and should be made payable to West Timperley Medical Centre. A receipt will be issued.
