How Do I...
Register With The Practice?
If you live in our practice area and would like to register with us, please request a New Patient Information Pack. In the pack, you will find a registration form together with a short questionnaire which we would ask
you to complete and return to us.
How Do I...
Obtain A Repeat Prescriprion?
If you need regular treatment your doctor may authorise the issue of repeat prescriptions. This means that your medication is detailed on our repeat therapy record and also printed on the tear-off section of your
prescription. Please use this tear-off section when ordering further supplies to ensure that all detail is recorded accurately.
Many pharmacies now offer a repeat prescription service. Requests are made via the pharmacy who will arrange for the prescription to be collected, dispensed and in some cases delivered to the patient. Please discuss
this service with your local pharmacist.
However, if you wish to continue to arrange your repeat prescription direct with the surgery, requests can be made in writing, by fax* or in person during normal opening hours. Please allow two complete working days
before collection and make allowances for weekends and public holidays.
* We plan to launch an online service in the near future.
How Do I...
Obtain A Home Visit?
The doctors are happy to visit patients at their homes if the doctor feels their condition renders them incapable of coming to the surgery. Should a home visit be required, the receptionist may ask for some details of
your problem. This information is confidential and will help the doctor to help you. If you require advice only, please say so as this may save time for both you and your doctor. Where possible we would ask that you
telephone the surgery before 10.30am if you feel a visit is required.
How Do I...
Make An Appointment?
Routine appointments can be booked up to four weeks in advance by telephoning 0161 929 1515 or by calling at the surgery. This enables us to offer you an appointment at a time which most suitably matches your
requirements. In addition to these, we offer emergency appointments. These are shorter appointments and are for conditions which require urgent attention only. They are therefore only available to book from 3.30pm on the
previous day.
In addition we can offer daily telephone consultations with both the GPs and the nursing team; these can be accessed in the usual way through one of the reception team.
We lose a great deal of appointment time each week to patients who fail to either cancel their appointments on time or do not attend at all. Please help us to reduce this number by advising us in good time if you cannot
attend, thereby allowing another patient to be seen.
